About Brian
I lead a pretty awesome life. By day, I work at Shopify. They’re a cool eCommerce website. I enjoy traveling and seldom lose in arguments or karaoke competitions. I don’t drink too much, but I work out too little. I dance almost exactly the right amount. I can solve 2/3 of any Rubik’s Cube I’m handed, but from there you’re on your own. I rise to challenges, excel under pressure, and make the best scrambled eggs you’ve ever had.
There’s a place where economics, politics, geography, and culture intersect, and that’s where my mind resides most of the time. I communicate effectively because it’s been central to every job I’ve ever had – from supervising customer service departments to community management and using social media to help businesses connect with customers. At the end of the day, I just try to understand the world around me and share that understanding with as many people as I can. This blog is part of that mission.
