About Brian

I lead a pretty awesome life. I enjoy traveling and seldom lose in arguments or karaoke competitions. I don’t drink too much, but I work out too little. I dance almost exactly the right amount. I can solve 2/3 of any Rubik’s Cube I’m handed, but from there you’re on your own. I rise to challenges, excel under pressure, and make the best scrambled eggs you’ve ever had.

There’s a place where economics, politics, geography, and culture intersect, and that’s where my mind resides most of the time. I communicate effectively because it’s been central to every job I’ve ever had – from supervising customer service departments to community management and using social media to help businesses connect with customers. At the end of the day, I just try to understand the world around me and share that understanding with as many people as I can. This blog is part of that mission.

Hello, my name is Destani. Pronounced Destiny, but I find most variations of it amusing. I suppose I am writing this for two reasons: 1. I find firsts very exciting. Not the obvious firsts, however, because those are talked about much too often. I like the firsts that no one talks about; like the first time you drank carbonated water or used a semi-colon properly or responded to a strangers blog entry about himself. 2. There is something fascinating about strangers. And there is something even more fascinating about feeling like you have everything in common with someone you have never met. And for these reasons, I am responding to a strangers blog entry for the first time. In truth, I stumbled upon this page after reading your review of 500 days of summer. I have to admit, I have always found a good film review incredibly entertaining, and surprisingly revealing about a person. I suppose all of this is too much information for one comment, so I think I’ll leave it at that for now.

P.S. You have a wonderful last name. I’ve always been jealous of people with “A” last names.
